The flagship British trip-hop group Massive Attack announced on Tuesday the death of its guitarist Angelo Bruschini, who suffered from lung cancer.
“Rest in Peace Angelo. A singularly brilliant and original talent,” wrote Massive Attack on its X account (ex-Twitter), deeming it “impossible to quantify” its contribution to the group from Bristol, England.
RIP Angelo ????
A singularly brilliant & eccentric talent. Impossible to quantify your contribution to the Massive Attack canon.

On its Instagram account, the group adds that it is “devastated” by the disappearance of its guitarist.
Founded in the 1980s, Massive Attack rose to fame in the 1990s with their album “Mezzanine”, then with “100th Windows”.
After playing in several groups, Angelo Bruschini joined the group in 1990, helping to shape the musical identity of the Bristol outfit.
Last July, Angelo Bruschini revealed on his Facebook account that he was suffering from lung cancer and reported the worsening of his health.
“I have had a great life, traveled the world many times, met many wonderful people, but the door is closing,” he wrote.
