remarkable energy efficiency for a late refresh?

A few weeks following the release of the first Ryzen 5000 series, voices were raised to be surprised at the absence of an intermediary between the Ryzen 5 5600X and the Ryzen 7 5800X. Voices finally heard by AMD… with not far from eighteen months “late”.

Eighteen months which will have left the necessary time for Intel to find an answer for him even before the marketing of the AMD solution. Indeed, more or less in the same price range, the Core i5-12600K is generally more efficient. The Ryzen 7 5800X is then another potential competitor, especially since its recent price drop, it is not that expensive.

Still, the Ryzen 7 5700X is much less energy intensive than these two competitors. It heats up noticeably less and its integration will, in fact, be much simpler, even in cramped housings. This is probably not THE solution for the future, but it remains an interesting processor.
