Remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 announced, by Remedy

Remedy Entertainment just announced an agreement with Rockstar Games to develop remakes from Max Payne Y Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Paynetwo games that were launched in 2001 and 2003 and that marked a before and following in the third-person action genre, both for its spectacular bullet time action as for his careful narrative film noir. Both games were originally developed by Remedy and published by Rockstar, owner of the brand since 2002, which launched in 2012 Max Payne 3already created by Rockstar Studios.

Under the announced agreement, Remedy develop the games as a single title for PC, PlayStation 5 y Xbox Series X/Susing its proprietary game engine Northlight (the same as Control Y Quantum Break).

We were excited when our old friends at Remedy approached us regarding remaking the original Remedy games. Max Paynesaid Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re huge fans of the work Remedy has created over the years, and I can’t wait to play these new versions.”

Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know that millions of fans around the world feel the same way,” said Remedy CEO Tero Virtala. “We are very excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar. Games once once more for a chance to bring back the story, action, and atmosphere of the original games from Max Payne back to players in new ways.

The game’s development budget will be funded by Rockstar Games, the size of which will be in line with the typical production of a triple-A Remedy game. Under the deal, Remedy will get royalties following Rockstar Games has recovered the cost of development, marketing, and other distribution and publishing costs of the game.

The game is still on concept phaseso although they have not said an approximate release date, it would not be surprising if it arrived in 2024.
