Remake of Silent Hill 2 with Unreal Engine 5? This is a fan project that many would like to see come true

We start the week with one of those fan creations that you love so much. And this time it’s very eye-catching because it focuses on one of the most beloved horror games of all time: Silent Hill 2. Konami’s title was remade with Unreal Engine 5 by a YouTube user named Silent, which shows us what the game would look like with updated graphics, but without losing its identity.

In the video that we leave you below, you can see that moment that we will hardly forget, with James Sunderland leaving the public toilets and entering the streets of Silent Hill for the first time. Plus, its creator shares and explains how his processes went into giving birth to this new and ambitious take on the 2001 classic.

Where and how to play the Silent Hill saga in 2022?

There are multiple answers to this question, and the most important thing to know is that not all episodes can be played on one platform. In fact, it takes several to fully enjoy the franchise. Below we list all Silent Hill games along with the best option to play them.

  • Silent Hill – Origin Saga was exclusive to PSX. Later it came in digital format on PSP, PS Vita and PS3. It has had no remastering or re-release.
  • Silent Hill 2 – The easiest option is the Silent Hill HD Collection, released on PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s backwards compatible with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and was also on PlayStation Now, but was removed from the catalog until at further order. . It is also available on PC, although it requires some settings and mods to work perfectly.
  • Silent Hill 3 – Like the second installment, the easiest option is to use the Silent Hill HD collection.
  • Silent Hill 4: The Room – PS2, Xbox and PC. It came to these platforms and if you want to play it you will have to do it on one of them.
  • Silent Hill Origins – Only playable on PS2 and PSP.
  • Silent Hill: Shattered Memories – Nintendo Wii, PS2 and PSP are the only platforms where you can enjoy a one-of-a-kind adventure.
  • Silent Hill Homecoming – PC (Steam), PS3 and Xbox 360 (or later models through backwards compatibility) are your only options to play it.
  • Silent Hill Downpour – It was released on PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s backwards compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X, but only if you have the original disc, as it has been removed from digital markets.

Present and future of the saga

The question that many players are asking: will we see a new opus? Unfortunately, no one is able to answer that, not even the companies involved who own the license. The only thing we do know is that last May some alleged footage of a new Silent Hill was leaked, but it was taken down for copyright infringement.
