Dr. Jad Al-Qadi, head of the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, revealed the date of the start of the new Hijri year 1444 AH, as the first of the month of Muharram 1444 AH will be astronomical on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

On such days, the government follows the decision of the Prime Minister since the beginning of 2020, to transfer official holidays, whether religious or national occasions from the beginning or middle of the week, to the following Thursday in the same week, to ensure the continuation of the work of government agencies and the continuation of providing services to citizens within days the week.

“Masrawy” monitors the number of vacation days remaining during the month of July 2022 as follows:

Saturday 23 July

Employees in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies and the private sector receive an official paid leave on the occasion of the anniversary of the July Revolution of 1952.

Islamic New Year (1 Muharram)

Workers in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, public business sector companies and the private sector will receive an official paid leave on the occasion of the Islamic New Year holiday, on July 30.

It is worth noting that the government had issued a decision to grant workers in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies and public business sector companies, in addition to granting workers who are addressed by the provisions of Labor Law No. 12 of 2003 – (the private sector) – an official paid leave. From Saturday, July 9, until Thursday, July 14, on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha for the Islamic year 1443.
