Pandemic, inflation, war in Ukraine… For the past two years, the resilience of Swiss SMEs has been fascinating. Perhaps because in every crisis lurk the seeds of new opportunities, as the Chinese like to point out. Alongside EPFL and PME Magazine, Time celebrates entrepreneurship, on the occasion of FORWARD which will take place on June 9 at the Swiss Convention Center.
Philippe Meier manages the company ETSM, in Apples in the canton of Vaud. The SME is active in micromechanics, a sector to which many economists gave little credit in Western lands. But when the pandemic hit, the situation completely changed. “Everything came back to us, including parts with low added value,” recalls the entrepreneur.
