34 Indians, including 19 Malayali nurses, were released from jail in Kuwait for three weeks. They were released from prison once morest the progress of deportation proceedings.

They were taken from the jail to the hospital and following being examined, they were allowed to return to their homes. They were caught during a check-up at a private hospital. The official explanation is that the arrest was made on charges of working in an operation theater without a license and insufficient qualifications. Out of the arrested, 5 Malayalees were given an opportunity to breastfeed their babies in jail through the intervention of the Ministry of External Affairs. It has been decided to release the arrested citizens of the Philippines, Egypt and Iran along with the Indians.
