The third season of the anime Blue Exorcist, also known as Ao no Exorcist, is coming. Called “Shimane Illuminati Saga”, the 3rd season of Blue Exorcit already has several information released, including its release date, trailer and more. Originally, the announcement of the continuation of the Blue Exorcist anime took place in December 2022, during Jump Festa.

According to Aniplex, a producer and distributor of animation-related products, the third season of Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist) will be released in January 2024. The revelation was made in September 2023 during a trailer released on its official channel on YouTube.
Sobre Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga
Created by mangaka Kazue Kato, the work Blue Exorcist has a total of 29 volumes. Now, the “Shimane Illuminati” saga (3rd season) will represent the story of volumes 10 to 15 of the Ao no Exorcist manga.
The episodes of Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga are directed by Daisuke Yoshida, responsible for directing Trigun: Badlands Rumble, Hunter × Hunter and Hajime no Ippo. The animation was done by Studio VOLN, a studio founded by former Madhouse producer and director, Keiji Mita. The script for the third season of Ao no Exorcist was written by Toshiya Ōno while the character designs were done by Yurie Oohigashi.
The soundtrack for the third season of Blue Exorcist was created by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto, the same people responsible for the OST (Original Soundtrack) of the first seasons. The opening will be done by the band Uverworld, the band also responsible for the previous “openings”, and will be called “Eye’s Sentry”.
Launch and availability
The anime Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga will be released in January 2024. Unfortunately, an exact date has not yet been officially announced.
Sobre Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist)
Originally, the Blue Exorcist anime had 25 episodes in 2011 and in 2017 it gained another twelve episodes, covering the “Kyoto Saga”. Now, with the third season, we will have the “Shimane Illuminati Saga”.
The story of Blue Exorcist revolves around the character Rin Okumura, a teenager who ends up discovering that he and his twin brother (Yukio) are sons of Satan who were born to a human woman. As sons of Satan, they both have incredible powers, but Rin is the first to be able to use them.
Upon seeing his foster father, Shiro Fujimoto, being killed, Rin draws the Kurikara sword, responsible for restricting his powers. After this episode, he decides to enroll in True Cross Academy, a school for exorcists, with the aim of defeating Satan, responsible for Shiro’s death. Upon entering the institution, Rin discovers that his brother, Yukio, is already an experienced exorcist, in addition to being one of the place’s teachers.
