The Nothing Phone (1) will be launched in India on July 12 and is the brand’s first smartphone, following the Nothing Ear (1) TWS earphones. The founder of the company, Carl Pei is previously the co-founder of OnePlus. Nothing has been teased/confirmed for the design of the phone (1) and some key specs by the company to make the hype for the launch. The main highlight of the phone is the LED lighting on the back panel that the user can customize. Interestingly, the mid-range Snapdragon 778+ chipset was not chosen for its first phone and not the flagship.

Nothing Phone (1) design takes center stage. Features a center hole punch for selfie snapper, extra narrow edges, and flat edges. The power button is on the right edge, while the volume button is on the left edge. There is a USB Type-C port and speaker grilles on the bottom. The entire frame appears to be made of metal and is boxy just like the iPhones.
On the back, you have dual camera sensors and an LED flash. The back panel is completely transparent and the highlight is the LED lighting. There is a USB Type-C port, speaker grilles, and a SIM tray at the bottom.
There is a red LED on the back, which turns out to be a video recording indicator. LED lights have multiple use cases, including charge percentage indicator, notification and call alert, wireless charging indicator and more. The price of the phone (1) in India has not been revealed but the European cost has been leaked online. The phone is said to start from €470 (regarding Rs 38,800) for the 8GB/128GB model, €500 (regarding Rs 41,300) for the 8GB/256GB version and €550 (regarding Rs 45,400) for the 12GB/256GB version. We can speculate that the cost in India can start in the price range of around Rs 30,000.
The company is offering instant Rs 2,000 discount via HDFC credit and EMI transactions on Flipkart. Customers need to purchase a pre-order pass on the e-commerce platform in order to purchase the phone when it launches next week.

According to the specifications, Nothing Phone (1) is said to have a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with hole hole. It is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 778+ 5G chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone will likely run Android 12 with no dedicated OS cover on top.
Nothing is said that the phone (1) packs a 4500 mAh battery with 45W support fast charging Via USB Type-C charging port and 5W reverse wireless charging.
