The Ancient Magus Bride is a fantasy romance shonen film created by Kore Yamazaki. The story centers on a 15-year-old girl Chise Hatori. The anime begins quite intriguingly with her being seen signing a contract and then being chained up to be auctioned off. It is ultimately someone with a strange appearance who buys it for the tidy sum of 5 million pounds. This person is actually Grand Wizard Elias Ainsworth. He leads her to his home, in a countryside of Great Britain. From the first contacts, Elias shows a keen interest in the young girl. He not only wants to marry her, but to make her his apprentice by helping her develop her powers. Indeed, Chise is a vega slay. His power allows him to see and communicate with supernatural beings. By her side, Chise learns what it’s like to have a home, someone who cares regarding her.

But beyond her daily life with Elias, the young girl gets to know a new world: that of witchcraft. Far from being a quiet island, this one has several surprises in store for him, both good and bad. From her initiation to acquaintance with new characters, missions with Elias, Chise learns from others and discovers herself. She even reconnects with a shadowy part of her past. But his meeting with Joseph alias Cartaphilus the Wandering Magician will be a new turning point in his life. The latter steals and puts Lindel’s dragons up for sale at auction. Lindel enlists Chise to help retrieve them. Unfortunately during the rescue of the dragon, she is seriously injured and suffers the dragon curse. Rather than resent Joseph, Chise delved into his memories, and managed to save him from Cartaphilus’ influence. The season ends with Chise in a wedding dress solemnly asking Elias for permission to stay by her side.

The Ancient Magus Bride Season 2 Synopsis

For the moment no official synopsis has been proposed. However, the series will take its course following the confrontation between Chise and Cartaphilus. Remember that this resulted in the victory of our protagonists over the Wandering Magician. Chise, despite the presence of the curse and its sinister countdown, reconnects with its joie de vivre and everyday life with Elias. Season 2 will continue with the College of Magic arc, which promises to be just as fantastic.
