Relatives of missing persons in border states ask the MP to investigate the events

A group of relatives of more than 130 missing persons in border states and the island of San Andrés, in Colombia, gathered to demonstrate in front of the headquarters of the Public Ministry to demand from the prosecutor Towing William Saab investigate the cases.

During the day, those present delivered a document in which they formally requested that generate actions to locate the missing personsas well as applying justice against trafficking networks.

We ask and beg the prosecutor to help us, the President of the Republic to help us. Please help us because we have been waiting for our children to come home for many years.”.

This group brings together 54 families of victims on the border with Colombia. “My son in particular disappeared in Venezuelan territory, working at his home in San Cristóbal, Táchira state. Others disappeared in Miranda, in Anzoátegui, but the vast majority in Colombia. They were all workers, they are not criminals, and suddenly they disappeared.”.

The protesters indicated that Among the missing are 27 childrenwith cases of those born in captivity.

Likewise, the lack of action by the Venezuelan justice system was claimed, especially in those situations that have lasted for more than ten years and in which the authorities have not provided a response.
