Relatives give a version of what Víctor Brahiar did, killed in a shootout in San Isidro

In a green room were the relatives of Víctor Brahiar Sánchez, the young man who was killed by several shots by unknown assailants in the El Bonito sector, San Isidro, in Santo Domingo Este.

Brahiar’s uncles and other relatives gathered in the living room of what was once his house, in the Los Farallones sector, Isabelita expansion, to accompany each other in the sadness of having lost a loved one.

Sánchez was gunned down outside a hardware store in a 2020 black CRV SUV with a display plate. He was accompanied by two other men, one of them died, and the other is admitted to a health center.

“We are devastated right now because we lost our beloved Brahian,” one of the deceased’s aunts told reporters from this newspaper.

According to his relatives, the young man had only recently returned from the United States where he lived, while they added that the deceased returned to his country to start a car sales business.

Those close to the deceased expressed not knowing where the place of vehicles that he had supposedly inaugurated a few months ago in the country is located.

“Brahiar was always a hard-working child who from a young age sold lemons on the street to get his weight, later his parents took him to the United States to grow more,” said another of his aunts who did not give his name.

The atmosphere in the La Isabelita sector was indifferent to the death of a man who once belonged to his neighborhood.

In the period of time that reporters from this newspaper toured the streets of the sector, it was observed that none of the residents of Los Farallones came to present their condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

Similarly, the residents and members of the police detachment said they did not know Brahiar, although he lived in the area for several years.
