Reisebyrå reports a sharp increase in autumn holiday bookings

Tui Norway’s communications manager Anne Mørk-Løwengreen points to the bad summer weather in Eastern Norway as decisive.

– The families who did not have the opportunity to escape from the wet Norway holiday with a place left, have prioritized a sunny holiday this autumn instead, she says. The company’s five most popular destinations are Gran Canaria, Crete, Turkey, Cyprus and Mallorca.

Ving Norway’s manager Marie-Anne Zachrisson tells NTB that the company has set up extra flights from various parts of the country for the autumn holiday weeks 40 and 41.

– We are normally very busy during the school holidays, and the autumn holidays are one of those which perhaps have the most travelers from Norway, says Zachrisson. According to her, around 14,000 Norwegians are going on a trip with the company during the autumn holidays.

For Ving, destinations around the Mediterranean are the most popular.

Communications manager Eline Hyggen Skari at Norwegian reports good figures before the autumn holidays.

– There are good bookings leading up to the autumn holidays, and in the last week it may look like the Norwegian summer weather has contributed to more people wanting to travel in the autumn, she says.

Skari says that there are places where you can combine swimming with the big city that are most popular, and mentions Barcelona, Malaga and Alicante among others.
