RWDM secured a season-long loan from Florent Da Silva, a French midfielder from Olympique Lyonnais. The Brussels club made the announcement on Sunday, the day following their first league match lost to Genk (0-4).
Aged 20, Da Silva is a product of the OL training center. He had experience in National, at FC Villefranche, then at FC Volendam in the Eredivisie. In the Dutch team where he spent the second part of last season, the Frenchman played 13 matches, scored 1 goal and gave 1 assist.
International on several occasions in age teams, Florent Da Silva also participated in the Youth League with OL. “I’m glad to come here“, expressed the new recruit from Molenbeek. “My personal objective is to achieve a full season at the highest Belgian level and collectively, to help the team to maintain itself and win as many matches as possible.“
On Saturday, RWDM lost their first return match in the top flight, 0-4 to Belgian runners-up Genk. The club had a turbulent pre-season, with the dismissal of all the technical staff less than a week before the start of the competition, replaced by a team led by the new T1, Claudio Caçapa.
