New nights of closure must be scheduled as part of the rehabilitation project of the Hyon tunnel located on the R50 of Mons, announced Tuesday a press release from Sofico, the Walloon company for complementary financing of infrastructures.
The tunnel will be completely closed to traffic from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. during the following nights: from Monday October 23 to Saturday October 28, from Monday October 30 to Wednesday November 1, from Thursday November 2 to Saturday November 4 and from Monday November 6 to Saturday November 11th.
These nighttime closures will make it possible to widen the access door to the technical room and place passive fire protection within the tunnel and its technical rooms.
The Hyon tunnel has been the subject of a renovation project since June 7. Until December 15, these operations require a reduction in the maximum speed to 50 km/h.
