“We are talking regarding an impact of more than 56 beds that we would gain once more, as well as the strengthening of consultations with our specialists, which will lead to better patient care,” said Clark.
This area will also have four beds for the Intensive Care Unit, which will be reopened completely remodeled and refurbished.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sánchez specified that among the transformation tasks, to mention a few, is the placement of new floors, frieze walls, painting, lighting, air conditioning, adaptation of furniture.
“It is a space to also care for patients in pulmonology, oncology, hematology and other aspects of internal medicine,” he confirmed.
He argued that they also checked the beginning of the remodeling work on the fifth floor where surgery patients are treated, specifically post-operative patients.
Later they visited the second floor to inspect the improvements in the Intensive Care Unit where they restored the lighting and air conditioning, in addition to the renovation of the painting and other minor repairs.
“It is a comprehensive renovation of the hospital that is carried out for the benefit of our patients, changing the conditions to offer an adequate service to higher standards and the goal is that this year we have a 100% operational, functional hospital that gives answers to the people”, said the doctor.
More intervened spaces
Likewise, the Dr. Elides Salas Dialysis Unit, located in the vicinity of the hospital, is also approached by a multidisciplinary team for the recovery of the infrastructure and its internal spaces.
The project plans to deliver a completely new hemodialysis room, the positive area, the nursing station and the doctor’s station, as well as other areas.
For this reason, Clark stated that with the support of the Ministry of Popular Power for Health they will deliver between 16 to 20 new chairs, as well as other equipment for the unit that provides dialysis services to patients from different municipalities in the region.
The inspection allowed the highest regional authority to evaluate the State Health Sciences Research Institute together with the Secretary General of the Government Dr. Luis Piña and the Secretary of Health Dr. Jesús Osteicochea.
“We are going to continue working 24 hours uninterruptedly to achieve medical advances that allow us to be at the forefront of scientific achievements for the health of our people,” he assured.
Thus, he pointed out that this center will have the most advanced technological equipment in order to continue the findings and tests undertaken by researchers from the Francisco de Miranda National Experimental University.

The objective is that the antidote is found in the points with the highest percentage of incidence of snake bites so that immediate attention is given.
“We put this advance at the service of the country, which was the winner last year of the National Prize for Science and Technology, and which today is a feasible response for patients with snake bites.”
