He said that there are people who are professionals in the field of nutrition and with a course they obtain the certificate of beautician without having training to be surgeons, in the best of cases many undergo an online course taught from Veracruz.

He explained that it is necessary to determine that the aesthetic specialty is not the same as the plastic specialty, the first “is the one that works on the skin, in the cutaneous route, to heal skin lesions but cannot perform intervention under the skin, that is, they cannot put implants, liposuction” among others.

He said that it is important that the article related to plastic surgery be added “noting that it can be practiced in medical units with licenses in the current entity and specifying how far the surgeon can go”, in addition it is prohibited to perform these procedures in “hairdressers, salons of beauty or aesthetics and similar sites” in addition to creating the criminal offense of usurping the functions of doctors without being them.

This type of situation makes it necessary to have quality medical services and to avoid the presence of people who offer this type of aesthetic services without having the conditions and adequate certification, but also to carry out dissemination campaigns for professionals trained to perform these aesthetic procedures.

Valeria Ávila, vice president of Hagamos in Jalisco, mentioned that it is necessary to properly regulate this practice, where the need for certification of doctors is established and that the necessary personnel be in spaces appropriate to an operating room and not in a space next to a restaurant.
