What is the Rita Cetina scholarship?
The Universal Scholarship for Basic Education “Rita Cetina Gutiérrez” It is a support for all preschool, primary and secondary education students in public schools.
Unlike the Benito Juárez scholarships, awarded to low-income students and vulnerable groups, the Rita Cetina scholarship is universal, that is, any and every basic education student enrolled in a public school can apply for it.

From Monday, October 14 to January 17, the registration of the Rita Cetina Gutiérrez scholarship for high school students.

During this period, the nation’s servants and officials of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) will go to the 35 thousand public secondary schools in the country for the informative assemblies.
During these assemblies with parents, as well as guardians, information about the scholarship will be provided and the registration form will be delivered.
Days before the assembly, notice will be given at the school itself so that parents or guardians of the students can attend.
Requirements and how to process it
The only one requirement to receive the new scholarship is to be a student of preschool, primary and secondary education in public schools.
To process it, the following documents must be delivered:
Student:
- Legible birth certificate
- CURP (recent printing)
- Proof of studies (certificate of studies, credential, registration form or re-registration report card)
Mother, father or guardian:
- Valid official identification (voter ID, passport, professional ID, INAPAM credential, identity card)
- CURP (recent printing)
- Proof of address (telephone, electricity, gas, water, property; no older than 6 months)
- Legible birth certificate
Once the scholarship has been processed, families will be given a card from the Welfare Bankto which the financial support will be deposited.
This so that cardholders can withdraw the money whenever they decide.

Rita Cetina universal scholarship amount, when are the deposits?
The new Rita Cetina scholarship consists of 1,900 pesos every two months for every family that has a son or daughter attending secondary school.
If there is more than one high school student in the family, 700 additional pesos for each of them.
The program will be implemented gradually, starting with high school students, who will receive support at the beginning of 2025.
Scholarships for other levels will be enabled later.
