The marathon of events and tests organized by the Lithuanian Journalists’ Auto Club (LŽA), which will end with the announcement of the winners on November 29, has been organized for the 28th time.
This year, the best will be chosen in three price categories and ten specialized nominations, including “Electric Car of the Year”, “Car of the Nation” and “Innovation of the Year”.
“The automotive industry is currently going through a difficult period of transformation, where optimism and disappointments are mixed. The enthusiastically started electric car revolution has taken a breather and manufacturers are currently looking for the least risky solutions. It will be all the more interesting to observe and experience the paths taken by different developers”, said LŽA president Valdas Valiukevičius.
This year, the competition will officially start at VILNIUS TECH University, where the “Plug-In” conference will be held. Later, there will be a test of electric cars, tests at the Autodrome of the Vilnius Automechanics and Business School, tests of special nominations in Druskininkai. On November 29, the winners will be announced at VILNIUS TECH.
This year, TV3 television and the TV3.lt portal became the information partner of “Lithuanian Car of the Year”, where the “National Car 2025” will be selected. The communication partner of the event is Fcomm, a strategic and financial communication agency.
30 applicants competed in last year’s competition. For the first time, it was decided to advertise 3-year-old cars in the relevant price categories: up to 40 thousand. EUR, up to 60 thousand EUR and more than 60 thousand. euros. Last year, the winners were the Nissan X-Trail, Toyota Prius and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, respectively.
