Registration for the “Colossi of the Earth” contest is open until July 17

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Registration for the “Colossi of the Earth” contest, which awards the largest trees in the country, is open until July 17. The activity is promoted by the organization “A Todo Pulmón Paraguay” and this edition has the slogan #LetNatureSurpriseYou.

Voting for the category Tree of my community will take place from July 17 to 22; and for the category “Best Nature Photograph” from July 29 to August 2. The first expedition will take place on August 9; the second expedition will take place on August 16; and the third expedition on August 23. The awards ceremony will take place on September 12.

Photographs from the following categories will be awarded in accordance with the nature of the country.

– Largest tree in Paraguay: trees of native species with at least 20 meters in height or 3 meters in trunk circumference compete.

– Largest tree in Chaco: trees of native species located in Chaco territory compete in size.

– My community tree: all trees with a history and great sentimental value for the citizens compete, regardless of species or size. The aim is to highlight the importance of the tree for the community.

– My school tree: aimed at public and private schools and colleges (registered with the MEC) so that they can participate with the trees on their premises or those that are up to 100 meters around the institution.

– Largest tree in the Protected Wild Areas: the largest native tree that inhabits the protected areas of Paraguay is sought.

– Best Nature Photography: Aimed at all those who enjoy taking photos outdoors. Photos must feature a tree and must be captured exclusively with cell phones.
