Sharjah, September 17 / WAM / The Sharjah Sports Council has opened registration to participate in the Sharjah-Hamriyah Aquathlon, which will be held on September 24 at Hamriya Beach, as part of the Council’s community sporting activities for the current season. The event includes races: Super Sprint, swimming a distance of 350 meters and running a distance of 2.5 km, Sprint, swimming a distance of 750 meters and running a distance of 5 km, and Junior for children, swimming a distance of 150 meters and running a distance of 1.5 km. It includes categories: Nationals, which are open to men and women, the first of which begins for children at 6:10 am. A 10-minute sprint followed by a 6:25 a.m. Super Sprint, and the winners will be crowned at 7:30 a.m.
Yasser Omar Al-Dokhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department at the Council, said that the participants are keen for each of them to obtain a commemorative medal chronicling the participation, in addition to the gold, silver and bronze medals that the winners of the first three places in each category will receive, in addition to the contestant obtaining personal photos of the race through the search service. About the images using artificial intelligence, he pointed out that the medal for the race took into account the expression of swimming and running in its design, and its composition will complement the subsequent events at the triathlon and duathlon levels.
