“Often the unique is found in the down-to-earth and authentic. Natural, regional, seasonal and carefully processed – this is what distinguishes our local food quality. It makes it unmistakable in its taste. Tourism in particular is one of the most important partners for local agriculture. I I’m convinced that if young people are concerned with the variety and quality of local products today, the whole region will benefit from it tomorrow,” says agricultural state councilor and chairwoman of Genussland Michaela Langer-Weninger on the occasion of the Genussland day in the Bad Leonfeld tourism schools.

The pleasure country day was a guest in Bad Leonfelden for the second time. On this school day, the Upper Austria Region of Indulgence designed the lessons. 20 partner companies were there, presenting themselves and giving deep insights into their wonderful variety of products and work. “With this initiative, the school shows commitment and openness to innovative concepts that will shape the future of rural areas and tourism,” Langer-Weninger emphasizes the importance of this format. In a relaxed atmosphere away from the normal school routine, the pupils might be taught interdisciplinary skills in product knowledge of natural, regional food using all their senses. “Genussland Oberösterreich and its partners inspire young tourists with Upper Austrian food and culinary delights. We are particularly pleased that they are now entering the job market or practical businesses as ambassadors of regionality,” says Margit Steinmetz-Tomala from the Genussland Oberösterreich.
