Regional Cardiac Rehabilitation Congress in Reggio Calabria – La Riviera online

The 7th Regional Congress of Cardiac Rehabilitation: A Heartfelt Affair

Ah, Reggio Calabria: where cardio meets the ‘Calabrian touch’ and the only thing palpitating faster than hearts is the anticipation of this year’s 7th Regional Congress of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases! From October 17 to 19, esteemed professionals will descend upon the Excelsior Hotel – probably expecting a five-star buffet amidst the heart-to-heart discussions on, well, *hearts*! Now, if only there were a heart-shaped cake, we’d be golden.

Organized by our heroes at the AICPR (that’s the Italian Association for Cardiac Rehabilitation for those not in the know), this congress isn’t just a meeting; it’s a heartthrob of scientific discussion. At the helm is Dr. Bruna Miserrafiti, who holds more titles than most people have shoes. She’s the national vice president of AICPR and head honcho of the Cardiac Rehabilitation department at the “Tiberio Evoli di Melito Porto Salvo” hospital. If only she had that many hands; imagine the multi-tasking!

The Rich Tapestry of Topics

So, what’s going to be sizzling in the scientific kitchen over three days? Get ready for nine thematic symposia that would even make Cupid blush! They’re diving into everything from cardiovascular risk factors to new therapeutic strategies, and heart failures. And, they promise not just to talk about the heart but also touch on some cheeky subjects like “not just heart” – proving that hearts aren’t the only things that need rehabilitation after a rough time! Sounds like a night out in Reggio Calabria, really.

Now, brace yourselves as Dr. Miserrafiti explains the serious truth: “Professional updating in the cardiology field is a constant necessity… Mortality and disability linked to cardiovascular diseases remain very high in the world and in Italy.” No pressure folks, but in a world where technology is evolving faster than your Aunt Edna’s knitting skills, we still face high stakes. And yes, it’s a serious issue—it’s not just about strict diets and treadmill marathons! They’ll be rolling out a *multidisciplinary approach*, involving doctors, nurses, and even the odd nutritionist trying to sneak in some kale while everyone’s looking.

The Agenda: A Whirlwind of Heartfelt Conversations

Mark your calendars! This congress starts with a mini-course dedicated to electrocardiography. Electrocardiographic complications after cardiac surgery, you say? Sounds more exciting than waiting for a bus! But let’s not kid ourselves; we’re here for the juicy bits. Topics will cover cardiac rehabilitation in various settings (they’re not just talking about rehab for gym junkies), primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention (because nobody wants round two on the heart attack), pharmacological adherence (a fancy way of saying ‘take your pills, people!’), and more!

And don’t you dare think it’s all dry, clinical mumbo jumbo! The beauty of this congress is its integration of solid lectures with interactive moments of discussion. You can bet that folks from all over Italy will gather, armed with even their most outrageous questions. It’s like a heart-themed TED Talk, but hopefully without the existential dread!

Wrapping Up

As we gear up for this heart-palpitating event, it’s a great reminder: if you aren’t aware of your cardiovascular health, now’s the time. The congress offers a golden opportunity to learn, network, and maybe even snag some tips that could keep our hearts thumping a little longer. So let’s keep our spirits high and our hearts healthy! Who’s in for a Calabrian adventure with a heart of gold?

And remember: while everything today seems to revolve around fancy gadgets and viral TikTok challenges, nothing beats the original—the human heart. So, if you find yourself in Reggio Calabria from October 17 to 19, just know the professionals will be working hard to ensure our hearts don’t just *break*, but dance!

The 7th Regional Congress of cardiac rehabilitation and prevention of cardiovascular diseases will be held in Reggio Calabria from 17 to 19 October. It will be a high-level scientific event in which prestigious nationally renowned speakers and specialists will participate.

Organized by the AICPR, the 7th Regional Congress of Cardiological Rehabilitation and Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases will be held from 17 to 19 October 2024, at the Excelsior hotel in Reggio Calabria. This is a high scientific level event in which prestigious nationally renowned speakers and specialists will participate. The congress sees Dr. Bruna Miserrafiti, national vice president of AICPR and head of the Cardiac Rehabilitation department at the “Tiberio Evoli di Melito Porto Salvo” hospital, as president, and Dr. Miserrafiti herself and doctor Nicola Cosentino as scientific head, regional president of AICPR Calabria.

The program is very rich. Over the three days there will be nine thematic symposia which will deal with: cardiovascular risk factors: new horizons; old and new therapeutic and interventional strategies, first and second part; cardiac rehabilitation after cardiac surgery; not just heart; heart failure; rehabilitative and preventive cardiology: multidisciplinary team; treatments and diagnostic strategies: update.

The president of the congress, Bruna Misserafiti, presents the event as follows: «Professional updating in the cardiology field is a constant necessity for all operators who in various capacities are involved in the fight against cardiovascular diseases. Despite continuous technological evolution, the positive results of pharmacological research and increasingly refined diagnostic methods, mortality and disability linked to cardiovascular diseases remain very high in the world and in Italy. Preventive and Rehabilitative Clinical Cardiology is the specialty of clinical Cardiology which, by virtue of its multidisciplinarity (doctors, psychologists, nurses, physiotherapists and nutritionists) offers the post-acute or chronic heart disease patient a structured approach whose objective is to reduce the mortality and disabilities resulting from an acute event, improving the quality of life with a positive impact on the health economy

Proud of the results obtained in previous editions, the proven organizational framework is also proposed for the seventh regional Congress of Preventive and Rehabilitative Clinical Cardiology.

«The congress will begin with a mini-course dedicated again this year to electrocardiography with particular attention to electrocardiographic complications in patients after cardiac surgery. Various sessions will follow in which many topics of rehabilitative and preventive interest will be addressed: cardiac rehabilitation in various settings with a multidisciplinary approach, primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention, pharmacological adherence, progression of atherosclerotic disease, chronic heart failure, gender cardiology, updates in cardiology interventional and cardiac surgery and more. All integrated with readings by professionals with recognized experience and interactive moments of discussion. A once again challenging and stimulating program where experts in various disciplines from various parts of Italy will discuss with all of us how to promote the health of the population»
