Patrick de Carolis, mayor of Arles, accompanied by Paule Birot-Valon, assistant delegate for health issues, and Eva Cardini, assistant for Salin-de-Giraud, came yesterday to visit the new premises of the medical practice which will accommodate three doctors. Two of them, Dr Bruno Deschamps holds his consultations on Tuesdays and Fridays – mornings by appointment only via Doctolib – and followingnoons without an appointment and Dr Jean-Yves Brun every Wednesday without an appointment. YOU. A third doctor, Dr. Manuela Cazacu will soon complete the week by being present on Mondays and Thursdays.
Fight once morest medical deserts
The renovation work of the premises cost more than 10,000 euros. Patrick de Carolis indicated that he “we had to solve the problem of medical desert in the village of Salin. It’s done. What is being put in place is the typical example of what must be done”. He adds that the City of Arles submitted a file for the village to be reclassified as a ZIP (priority intervention zone), two months ago. Previously Salin-de-Giraud was classified as a ZAC (zone of complementary activities). “Obtaining the new qualification in ZIP will trigger grants that will fund the installation of doctors in the village. An appointment is already planned with the ARS (regional health agency) in the coming weeks and we hope for a positive response by the end of 2023, in order to start 2024 in the best conditions on this file. I would also like to thank the municipality of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer with whom we work on good terms and Mrs. Françoise Favier.”
The visit continued to see the end of the works on avenue Joseph-Imbert, whose bill reached 190,000 euros and ended in the arenas which now have completely new lighting. It is worth adding to the list of work undertaken: air conditioning for seniors at the Foyer Bernard (€25,000). In all for the year 2023, more than one million euros will have been invested in Salin-de-Giraud.
