An incumbent police officer was arrested for refusing to take a breathalyzer following being caught by the police while driving under the influence of alcohol.
On the 7th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that it was planning to arrest and investigate Inspector A, a member of the National Police Agency’s main office, on charges such as obstruction of the execution of official duties and refusal to take a breathalyzer.
Inspector A is accused of refusing to take a breathalyzer when the police, who came to the scene following a citizen who witnessed this while driving drunk in the parking lot of a restaurant in Seolleung-ro, Gangnam-gu, at around 6:39 pm on the same day asked for a breathalyzer test. .
Inspector A was found to be swearing at the dispatched police and pushing him twice.
The police are said to have been dispatched to the scene following receiving a report from a citizen who said, “It seems that someone is drinking and driving.”
A police official said, “We plan to investigate Inspector A on charges of obstructing the execution of official duties and refusing to take a breathalyzer.”
