There had already been serious allegations once morest the address of the FCZ U-16 coach – ex-Nati star Daniel Gygax.
On Tuesday followingnoon, the Swiss Football Association announced that it had opened proceedings following initial internal clarifications. Specifically, it is regarding what happened in the U-16 Cup semifinals in March between Team Aargau and FC Zurich (2-0 for Zurich). “It is examined whether or why a yellow card in the game report was assigned to a presumably wrong player,” writes the association.
Daniel Gygax is likely to be the focus of the investigation. At the end of April, an email circulated accusing the FC Zurich U-16 head coach of having influenced the referee report. The former Nati star is said to have asked the referee to assign a yellow card to another FCZ player because otherwise he would have been banned for the final.
There, FCZ won 2-1 once morest Lausanne in mid-April, the player concerned was on the pitch. After the allegations became known, opponents in the final Lausanne had demanded that the SFV clarify the incident. At the same time, FC Zurich vehemently rejected all allegations. The association is now complying with the demands of the Lausanne residents. At the request of 20 minutes, the FCZ does not want to comment on the procedure. It is the presumption of innocence.
