Abu Dhabi: Dubai Police said that there have been 107 road accidents in Dubai in the last eight months. Police records also show that three people lost their lives in different vehicle accidents. Accidents are often caused by careless diving, police said. The police stated that 75 people were injured in different road accidents.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Masroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said that reckless driving is the cause of most traffic accidents. The police’s smart traffic monitoring systems and radars detected 529,735 violations related to line changes on the road between January and August this year. Saif Muhair Al Masroui also said that sudden lane changes often cause major accidents.
The Dubai Police has repeatedly warned that such law breakers will be fined 400 dirhams. Dubai Police uses smart systems and modern technologies to detect traffic violations. The police asked the residents to follow the traffic rules and drive their vehicles only.
