Giza Governorate is currently experiencing growth and construction of large traffic axes that contribute to easing traffic congestion in the area. This is part of the extensive efforts by the state to reduce traffic volumes in various regions of the country, particularly Cairo and Giza governorates. One of the prominent transportation axes undergoing development and expansion in Giza Governorate is the Ahmed Orabi axis. It is intended to ease congestion on the 26th of July Corridor, connecting Al-Mansheya Road to Ahmed Orabi Street. The axis is 11km long and 6 lanes wide in each direction, and it has links to the ring road and Kamal Amer axis. Additionally, the new corridor aims to reduce the pressure of traffic in densely populated areas such as Al-Barajil, Saft Al-Laban, Tersa, and Imbaba, while also passing through significant locations such as the new Bashtil station. The Lieutenant General Kamal Amer’s new axis is another development project in Giza Governorate. It has a length of 12km and a width of 33-65.5m and will be extending to 15 km to connect with the Tahya Misr axis in the north.
