Harvard University was in charge of carrying out this research, which was published in the journal Diabetologia. There it was determined that patients diagnosed with type two diabetes should do physical activity in the mornings or followingnoons to obtain better results in controlling their blood sugar.

In order to reach these conclusions, scientists gathered data from 93,095 people, all of them from the United Kingdom and with an average age of 62 years. In order to gather the figures, the professionals used surveys, but, in addition, each individual wore an accelerometer on their wrist for an entire week.

“The methodology is called MET, or Metabolic Equivalent of Task, which is actually a sophisticated way of adding up all the hours of physical activity, from walking the dog to running a marathon. This information was divided into three time bands: morning (06:00-12:00), followingnoon (12:00-18:00) and night (18:00-24:00).”
