Last month, Redmi introduced its new ultra-fast charging technology with a power of 300W, managing to charge a 4,100 mAh battery in just five minutes. The novelty arrives to compete with other companies in the same segment that are also improving their load speeds.
Despite having made this feature official, the Xiaomi subsidiary has not committed to revealing when it will launch the 300W or which will be the first model to have native support. According to the informant Digital Chat Station, the brand is working to launch a cell phone compatible with this power, displacing the realme GT3, which leads with 240W.
The leaker did not dare say the commercial name of the smartphone under development, so he does not provide details regarding the other components of the internal hardware, availability and price. This device should arrive to put Redmi at the top in terms of charging time, with 5 minutes to go from 0 to 100%, once morest 9 minutes and 30 seconds for realme.
This 300W power seems to be an exaggeration with a focus on just surpassing rivals, especially considering that most intermediate and top-of-the-line cell phones have powers between 67W and 120W, which for some users is enough to guarantee a good experience and little time in the socket. .
To ensure high charging power and avoid overheating of the charger, the Chinese manufacturer is expected to adopt Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology, which in addition to better dissipating heat also reduces the size of the accessory.
