Reddit may block Battlefield 2042 section due to community toxicity | Games

Reddit moderators have announced their readiness to close the section related to Battlefield 2042… The reason was the toxicity of gamers expressing dissatisfaction with the state of the game.

EA’s Global Director of Communications Andy McNamara tweeted that players are asking too much of the developers. He noted that during the Christmas holidays, DICE employees have the right to rest and are not required to release patches instantly. He called the demands of users violent, but later deleted the tweet.

Gamers used McNamara’s statements as the basis for numerous memes: in them, users mostly state that games should not come out “unfinished”. In this case, gamers will not have to demand the “impossible” from the developers. The board moderators pinned a message in which they urged to reduce the level of negativity in relation to the developers. Otherwise, they “will do everything possible” to rectify the situation, up to and including the temporary closure of access to the section.

Reddit moderators:

“To say that subreddit has become very toxic is an understatement. It is almost impossible to see a discussion that does not involve mutual insults, and this is starting to hurt the entire Battlefield community a lot. The moderators will monitor the implementation of the reddit rules, and if we find numerous violations, we will be forced to block the entire section. “

Battlefield 2042 was released on November 19, 2021, three years following the release of Battlefield V. One month following the release of Battlefield 2042 conceded the last game in the online series on Steam.
