Author of a successful loan from the side of Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) in Morocco by winning two major trophies, the African Champions League and the Moroccan championship, Guy Mbenza was highly coveted during this summer transfer window. The Red Devils striker has signed a two-year contract, plus an optional year, with Saudi club Al-Tai.

Congolese international Guy Mbenza has officially left the Moroccan club Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) following a season-long loan from Belgian club Royal Antwerp Football Club last season. He joined the Al-Tai club, 6th in the last championship of Saudi Arabia last July 15. The two parties have signed a contract for two seasons, plus an optional one for a transfer estimated at almost 500,000 euros. A surprising choice on the part of the Congolese player following a convincing season with the Moroccan club. Author of 19 goals in all competitions, Guy Mbenza was one of the great architects of the coronation of the WAC in the African Champions League and in the Moroccan championship last season. On an individual level, the Congolese international experienced a successful adaptation, finishing top scorer in the Moroccan championship with 16 goals during his time on Moroccan soil. Good performances that he also repeated with his national team during international matches this season. By signing up with the Saudi club, Guy Mbenza leaves public opinion speechless, while we saw him continue his adventure in Morocco with the WAC who had expressed an interest in signing him. Also, the Congolese sporting public hoped if not to see one of its attacking leaders sign in a club of the top 5 of the European championships in view of its statistics.
