Red Bull Salzburg wins a friendly against HSV – and loses against Slovacko

In the first of two friendlies on Saturday, FC Red Bull Salzburg defeated German second division side Hamburger SV 4-1. The second match, on the other hand, was less pleasant.

A week before the start of the competitive game, Red Bull Salzburg had a clear success in a friendly once morest Hamburger SV. Coach Matthias Jaissle’s team beat the German second division team 4-1 in Anif on Saturday morning. A few hours later, Austria’s football champions tested once more, but lost 3-0 to the Czech first division club FC Slovacko in a much inexperienced line-up.

Karim Konate, Amankwah Forson and Dorgeles Nene scored the goals in the Bulls’ clear victory over HSV; Hamburg’s Dennis Hadzikadunic contributed an own goal. Alexander Schlager guarded the Salzburg goal following Philipp Köhn decided to move to Monaco.

In the second game, Jaissle sent a diverse, extremely young team onto the field, which was clearly defeated in the end. The Salzburg coach was nevertheless satisfied: “All in all, if you look at today’s test match double, it was a successful day, especially because the first match was excellent.”
