The Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, defending Formula 1 champion, won the British GP and won his eighth race in the 2023 season -the remaining two were won by his teammate Sergio Pérez- and moves away in the table of positions that he comfortably leads following the first ten dates.
The Dutchman dominated almost the entire race except for the start when McLaren’s Lando Norris, who finished second following a brilliant performance, had taken the lead from him during the first four laps of the competition. For his part, the British Lewis Hamilton, from Mercedes, finished in third position.
With this victory, Red Bull reached a historic record since it has won eleven consecutive Grand Prix – counting the one in Abu Dhabi last year – and equaled the mark that McLaren had reached in the edition that took place in 1988.
With regard to this Sunday’s race, it should be noted that the Italian team Ferrari drew attention for its weak performance since its drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finished ninth and tenth respectively. In turn, an incident affected part of the competition since Kevin Magnussen (Haas) had a malfunction and his car caught fire, for which the safety car stopped the fight from lap 30 to lap 39. The next Grand Prix will be held on Sunday, July 23 in Hungary.
