Christian Horner, F1 team representative for Red Bull Racing, denied reports that the W13 with Mercedes’ “Zero Pod” was considered legal and the team believed the design should be banned.
On Thursday morning when Mercedes F1 introduced a radical side pod, Christian Horner said Red Bull Racing’s aerodynamic team was taking the time to “understand” and “digest” the concept. It was revealed.
But now Red Bull Racing has come to the conclusion that the side pods that Mercedes F1 designed in regular communication with the FIA (International Automobile Federation) are legal.
Christian Horner reportedly described the Mercedes W13 side pods as “illegal” on the morning of the first day of the F1 Bahrain test, but both Red Bull Racing and Horner denied the report.
