The center-left coalition led by current President Mette Frederiksen has won the Danish election. The five-party ‘Red Alliance’ contested under the leadership of Mette, the leader of the Social Democrats. Jayam won 90 seats in the 179-member parliament. Denmark got 87 seats on the mainland and three seats each on the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
The main party, the Social Democrats, won 27.5 percent of the vote. The Blue Alliance, which includes conservative parties, won a total of 73 seats. There were a total of 43 lakh voters. Opinion polls predict that the election will go to a photo finish and that the Moderates Party, which was formed three months ago under the leadership of former Prime Minister Lars Loki Rasmussen, will have a decisive influence on the formation of the government.
