Recruitment Violation: 23 firms shut down in Qatar

Doha: In Qatar, 23 companies have been shut down for violating labor recruitment regulations. While strict action is being taken once morest those who violate the labor law in the country, the companies that violated the rules in the employment of workers were closed down. Officials also informed that the license of the closed establishments will be cancelled.

Violation of the law was found in twenty-three establishments in labor recruitment. Following this, the said institutions have been instructed to close down, the authorities said. The notice also states that the closed establishments have been banned from further operations. The companies that faced action in issuing recruitment licenses to foreign workers were found to have violated the law. It was also noticed by the authorities that the said institutions did not respond to the complaints of the customers. All this led to the closure of 23 companies, the Qatari authorities said.

Recruitment agencies are under strict surveillance by the Ministry to ensure compliance with domestic and employment laws. Authorities have also tightened inspections to detect such violations. Several measures are being implemented as part of tightening the law, including introducing new terms in employment contracts.
