Recruitment to the courts of Achaia is a drop in the ocean: Only 10 come and 45 leave – 2024-03-16 21:45:41

Minister of Justice Giorgos Floridis continues to make announcements for the recruitment of 1,200 judicial officers with his statements from the floor of the Parliament, which, however, remain to this day without any substantial response, at least for the judicial services of Achaia.

The court officials of Patras report to “Peloponnese” that the knot has reached the comb from the massive staff shortagesimplying that the announcements of their political leader do not correspond to reality.

In the first one competition for the School of Judicial Officers which happened last year 300 people were hired for all the courts of the country. In the The Court of First Instance of Patras was represented by only 9 employees, of which 3 for the Prosecution of First Instance, 2 for the Magistrate’s Court, 2 for the Court of First Instance and another 2 for the Criminal Court.

The president of the Association of Court Clerks of Patras, Christos Daramouskas, notes in “Peloponnisos” that, one year following hiring the 9 employees just a few days ago it was passed by the Official Gazette and they will report to take up duties by the end of March.

Also last year October follow another nationwide competition for recruitment of 250 judicial officersof which only 2 will come to the courts of Patras, while the competition that was planned for the beginning of 2024 for an additional 250 recruitments, was postponed for the coming October.

At the same time, Mr. Daramourkas mentions that Mr30 court officials have left due to retirement. It is clear that the new hires are too few to cover the vacancies caused by another 15 retirements this year.

The Court of First Instance and the Court of First Instance of Patras are currently operating with 50% of their organic positionsresulting in great discomfort among the judicial officers who are left behind.
