In more detail, according to government priorities, the allocation focuses mainly on the following sectors:
Health: A total of 4,016 positions were approved, to strengthen the National Health System, which fulfills the prime minister’s pre-election commitment of 10,000 recruitments following last year’s approval of 6,500 positions. Primarily doctors and nursing staff will be recruited.
National Defense: The entire request of the productive schools and an additional 2,000 professional hoplites were approved. The new announcement has been launched and is expected to be issued at the end of the year, however the appointments will be made within 2025.
Local Government: A large share of recruitment will be directed towards meeting the needs of municipalities and regions. Qualified permanent staff and seasonal staff will be hired. Special care will be given to cover the needs of agencies based in the affected areas, as well as in the smaller municipalities.
Climate crisis: The aim of the government is to strengthen the Fire Brigade. The graduates of the productive schools will be hired (330 positions) plus specialized firefighters on duty (450 Firefighters of Forest Operations & Special Duties), plus 51 positions of other specialized personnel in the corps and the ministry (helicopter operators, engineers, navigators, etc.). ).
Citizen Protection: 1,050 appointments will be made from graduates of productive schools (probationary constables and sub-constables) and 600 special guards. In addition, 100 permanent security guards and external guards will be hired for the local detention centers and the Eleonas Rehab Center.
Education: Most permanent positions are for faculty members, including appointments in university and medical schools and hospitals. It is noted that the teachers of the 2025-2026 school year will be approved in May 2025.

Social cohesion and family: The structures of the newly established ministry will be strengthened with 372 permanent positions.
