The Observatory stated that due to the influence of the winter monsoon and a rain band in Hong Kong this morning, the temperature dropped to 6 or 7 degrees in some areas. The Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 8.1 degrees, the lowest recorded since the beginning of winter. Among them, Tai Mo Shan recorded minus 0.6 degrees Celsius. The weather is forecast to be cold and cloudy today. Hong Kong will continue to be affected by the winter monsoon in the next two days. It is expected that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will continue to be cold.
The Observatory stated that due to the low temperature in the highlands, it will be humid today, with the relative humidity close to 100. When water vapor comes into contact with surfaces below freezing point, there is a chance of freezing, and the public is reminded to pay attention to safety.
