On Sunday, 30 degrees were measured in Styria earlier than ever before. Things continue in this tone at the beginning of the week, with things not cooling down until Wednesday.

STYRIA. The first day of heat was recorded on Sunday as early as never before in Austria. According to Geosphere Austria (formerly ZAMG), exactly 30 degrees was measured in Bruck an der Mur. At least 29.3 degrees were recorded on the thermometer in Leoben. So far, the earliest hot day with at least 30 degrees was recorded on April 17th – 1934 in Salzburg.

Summery and warm

The Styrians don’t have to do without the warm temperatures this week either: “On Monday it will continue to be summery and extremely warm,” says Geosphere Austria. The Sahara dust that has settled over Styria in the last few days can still be present in the air – this means that the weather generally appears a little hazier. The daily highs on Monday will be 26 to 29 degrees.

Cooling down on Wednesday

The first veiled clouds are expected to appear over Styria on Tuesday, but the sun will mostly appear and it can get up to 29 degrees once more. Only in the evening will a cold front approach from the northwest, which can also bring the first showers. As a result, it will be cooler and changeable on Wednesday and the maximum values ​​will drop to 11 to 16 degrees. On Thursday, following a fresh start to the day, it will be mostly sunny and warmer once more.
