Record-breaking Umrah Pilgrim Numbers: Latest Updates and Developments

The number of pilgrims arriving for Umrah is moving towards an all-time record. One crore thirty five lakh people came for Umrah last year. The Hajj Umrah Minister’s announcement was made at the Hajj Umrah Exhibition in Jeddah. The exhibition is also a prelude to Hajj in which various representatives from different parts of the world will participate.

Before this, the highest number of people came for Umrah in 2019. 85 lakh people came that day. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah expressed its happiness that the maximum number of Umrah pilgrims might be reached.

Ministers and leaders representing more than 80 countries around the world are participating in the Hajj Umrah conference in Jeddah. Agreements have been signed with various countries including India ahead of Hajj. Meetings with Hajj leaders from all countries have been completed and arrangements for the Hajj season are entering final stages.

5 billion Riyal projects to develop the infrastructure of the holy places have been initiated in the holy places. 14,000 toilets and washrooms and more than 150,000 air conditioning units are being installed. All this can be seen at the Expo. And government agencies that are part of the Hajj service are also partners.

This year, Saudi will add 126 more countries to the Nusk platform for Hajj Umrah services. Last year there were 67 countries.
