A total of 174,840 passengers were registered at Nador-El Aroui airport during the first quarter (Q1) of 2023, official data from the National Airports Office (ONDA) show. These figures represent a recovery rate of almost 114% for passengers compared to the same period of 2019.
During the month of March, the number of passengers who passed through this airport platform reached 59,187 people, against 53,478 during the same period of 2019, a recovery rate of 111%, it is specified.
At the national level, the airports of the Kingdom recorded, during the first quarter of 2023, a volume of commercial traffic of 5,912,986 passengers and 46,313 airport movements, i.e. an evolution of passenger traffic of 5% and a recovery rate of movements of by 96%, compared to the same period of the year 2019.
As for air freight, it recorded 18,370 tons against 22,653 tons for the same period in 2019, representing a recovery rate of 81%. During the 1st quarter of 2023, Nador-El Aroui airport occupied the first position in the Oriental region and 7th place nationally in commercial air traffic, ahead of Oujda-Angad airport ranked eighth.
