Record-Breaking Medal Harvest: Team Chile Shines at Santiago 2023 Pan American Games

He Team Chile made history this Friday in the medal table of the Santiago 2023 Gamessince it reached a record of 51 medals, the best harvest in Pan American Games, surpassing the previous record from Lima 2019.

The medal harvest was achieved thanks to the medals won this Friday: Enrique Villalón’s gold in karateand the silver ones of Maria José Mailliard (rafting), The Devils (men’s field hockey) and La Roja in women’s football.

The record that Chile will seek to beat this weekend will be the gold medals in Lima, since 13 gold medals were achieved in Peruvian lands.

In the general medal table, The United States reached 100 gold medals (234 in total), being absolute dominator on the podium. Brazil is second (56 golds), while Mexico added 42, distancing itself from Canada in the fight for third place.
