Record Attendance and Increased Passengers at Brive and Limoges Airports: Summer Travel Boosts Regional Development

In this summer, there are two men and their teams who are happy. They are responsible for Brive-Vallée de la Dordogne and Limoges-Bellegarde airports. The two establishments are reporting increased attendance rates, even a record, even though we are only halfway through the season. Explanations.

In Brive, a record attendance for the month of July

Julien Bounie, president of the joint union at Brive-Vallée de la Dordogne airport, is therefore very satisfied. “The month of July saw the attendance record with more than 12,000 passengers, with increasing lines”. This is the case of the Ajaccio and Nice lines, which seem to have found their audience, with almost the same scores reached as last year at the same time. “On the other hand, continues the manager, we see a real explosion in London, which has jumped from 8,000 to 9,200 passengers, and Porto which continues to grow with more than 22,300 passengers exceeded, compared to 19,000 last year”.

For the president, this is due to the resumption of travel activities. People want to leave. In Brussels, for example, there are many Belgians who come for their second home. Brive-Vallée de la Dordogne airport remains an essential element of regional development. is convinced Julien Bounie.

In Limoges, an increase also in the number of passengers

The director of Limoges-Bellegarde airport makes a similar observation. “On the first part of the summer, we record a 31% increase in our passenger traffic for the same periods compared to 2022″ is satisfied Philippe Thibaut. Flights to London or Marrakech work perfectly. The Moroccan destination, opened last year, is “a real success” emphasizes the leader. “Today, we are recording a 90% occupancy rate on flights to Marrakech, which are well filled until the end of the summer”. Not to mention the tour operators who offer return flights from Limoges.

Limoges-Bellegarde and Brive-Vallée de la Dordogne are therefore increasingly attractive, to the point that other destinations might enter air hubs next year. Discussions are underway with the airlines (Ryanair, Chalair, British Airways and EasyJet in Limoges, Amélia and Ryanair in Brive), announcements might be made in October-November.
