Reconciliation with Israel: Former Saudi Director General’s Statements Spark Interaction

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists circulated on social media the statements of the former Director General of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al-Ghamdi, regarding reconciliation with Israel, which sparked interaction.

It is noteworthy that in 2002, the late Saudi monarch King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and at that time he was crown prince before becoming king in 2005, put forward an initiative for peace with Israel, at the fourteenth summit of the League of Arab States in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on March 27 and 28 of that year.
