Do you like samurai, feudal Japan and difficulty? Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is currently 50% off.
Before Elden Ring, there was Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, an action game that sends you to feudal Japan in the late 16th century. You play “the one-armed wolf”: a strange samurai equipped with a “shinobi prosthesis” as a left hand and set off in pursuit of a young kidnapped lord. Co-published internationally by Activision, it is one of FromSoftware’s jewels. This creation from the progenitors of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls was crowned game of the year in 2019.
Follow your path to revenge in the critically acclaimed action-adventure game from FromSoftware studio, creators of the Bloodborne and Dark Souls series.

17/20 at JV
Sur Metacritic, the game achieves a very good average of 90. Telegraph, which gives the maximum mark, writes that “such a ferocious difficulty won’t surprise veterans of From’s previous games, Dark Souls and Bloodborne, of course, and they’ll probably appreciate Sekiro’s propensity to kill you often and mercilessly“. At JV, it’s a nice 17/20. We love the nervous and very technical combat, the crazy freedom conferred by the grappling hook, the fluidity in the movements which is a pleasure, the varied bestiaries and bosses, the impressively vertical environments, a mastery of level design which still delights us as much as ever. , or even the different skill trees.
If the ability to be able to rise from the dead to resume combat might mislead some people regarding the accessibility of Sekiro, the game from the Japanese studio does not take long to reveal its true nature as a pure game from the From DNA Software. Technical, demanding, often uncompromising in the face of mistakes, it nevertheless remains as gratifying following the slightest success. With a dynamism exacerbated by the arrival of combat mechanics designed to offer us the sensation of controlling a shinobi, Sekiro draws as much on Tenchu for a correct but lackluster infiltration part, as on Souls for its memorable clashes. The blades of the katanas clash with crazy class, while the player progresses in blood in the face of an increasingly tough challenge; a road that is sometimes frustrating in certain aspects, but where each small step does so much good for our ego as a player. An experience which, although it might discourage some, is nonetheless highly recommendable. In short, as the slogan of its big brothers would say so well: Prepare to die… – Conclusion of our test.
