Recife Guararapes International Airport, managed by Aena Brasil, ranked first in Brazil, for the second consecutive time, and was fourth in the world, among medium-sized terminals, according to the survey The On-Time Performance Review 2022 – Airlines & Airports.
The survey, which registers the punctuality of the terminals, is carried out by Cirium consultancy, one of the most important in the airline industry. Within its category, Recife obtained the highest score in the entire West, obtaining an index of 88.95% of operations on schedule. The report was released this Friday, with data recorded throughout 2022.
Since March 2022, Recife Airport has been undergoing improvements aimed at bringing more comfort, safety and agility to users. The terminal will have 60% more capacity, totaling an expansion of 24 thousand square meters. Improvements include a new international pier, four new jetways, more shops and restaurants, as well as many other amenities such as two VIP lounges. The enhancement package also includes the automation of immigration processes, boarding access and baggage processing.
In addition to the score registered in The On-Time Performance Review 2022 – Airlines & Airports, by Cirium, Recife Airport was also first in Brazil in the evaluation of consumers in a survey carried out by the consultancy AirHelp. Last year, it also received the Aviação Mais Brasil 2022 award, from the Ministry of Infrastructure, as the most punctual in the category between 5 million and 10 million passengers. In the case of Cirium, the consultancy attests that its assessment is made independently by specialized consultants, who are knowledgeable regarding the operation of civil aviation, but are not connected to any company.
