In a few days, the Polish national team may achieve half of its goal of qualifying for the European Championships. If the team led by Michał Probierz wins the play-off semi-final against Estonia, five days later it will face the winner of the Wales-Finland match. Almost all fans and experts agree – it is mandatory to defeat the Estonians in order to play for the tournament on Monday, March 26. If this does not happen, the Polish Football Association, the players and the coach will be criticized.
Klavan was the “star” of Eurovision. Now he will play against Poland
Recently, Ragnar Klavan was once again called up to the team of our closest rivals. He is a central defender who played for Liverpool for two years. The 129-time representative of Estonia appeared during the Eurovision final as a representative of his country, presenting the choices of the national jury, which awarded points to artists from other countries. Klavan’s appearance in front of the cameras came out a bit stiff and unnatural, but ultimately the former footballer said what he had to say. Still, there was a lot of stress on his face. Unfortunately, the Estonians did not award any points to Blanca, representing Poland. In a few days we will have the opportunity to take “revenge”.
After the May Eurovision show, Ragnar Klavan decided to resume his career. He has been a player of Tallinn Kalev since July, where he played only two matches this season. However, this was enough for Estonia coach Thomas Haeberli to send the player another call-up. Perhaps next Thursday we will see Klavan at the National Stadium in the semi-final of the play-offs.
An interesting fact is that the former Liverpool defender played against Śląsk Wrocław in 2021 as a Paide Linnameeskond player in the European Conference League qualifiers. Then the top league team won the aggregate 4-1.
