As we noted, the WWE status of Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss has been up in the air lately following the two missed WrestleMania 39. Wyatt has not been seen since the February 27 RAW, where he was featured in a pre-recorded segment during the build-up to her canceled WrestleMania match with Bobby Lashley, while Bliss has been out since losing to RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at the 2023 Royal Rumble. It was originally reported that Wyatt was walked out with an illness or physical issue, while word on Bliss was that she needed to take a break before the match with Belair.
In an update, it looks like Bliss may be back in the storylines soon, as a new report from credible Twitter source @BoozerRasslin notes that Bliss is set to make the roster in Saudi Arabia for WWE Night of Champions on Saturday, May 27. .
It was unclear if Bliss would work on the show and the report said the source was unsure of Bliss’ status at WWE TV. Word regarding Bliss making the trip to Saudi Arabia came following a note that said a post-Backlash return might be expected as she was “wanted” for Night of Champions.
Regarding Wyatt’s WWE status, a new report from PWInsider notes that he is not currently listed internally on the WWE roster in any way. Additionally, a new report says Wyatt is still not cleared to compete, indicating that his medical hiatus will continue.
It was noted today by Fightful Select that both Wyatt and Howdy are still with WWE, and that Wyatt is off the internal roster due to the issue keeping him out of action. It has also been said that Wyatt remains hopeful and wants to return.
It should be noted that the actual issue preventing Wyatt from being erased has not been reported, but it has been implied that evolving speculation regarding whether or not Wyatt will return is due to the nature of the issue. An update from @BoozerRasslin noted that Wyatt’s return “depends on management and him.”
There has also been speculation that Bliss’ hiatus has to do with Wyatt not being able to return and the aforementioned nature of the issue, as original plans months ago had Bliss involved with Wyatt and Uncle. Howdy.
For what it’s worth, an update from Ringside News notes that Bliss’ absence “has nothing to do” with Wyatt, but the two are well and truly linked for the former champion’s disappearance from screens.
Bliss has been quite active on social media during his absence, unlike Wyatt. Bliss announced in late March that she had undergone surgery to have skin cancer removed, but did not say when she would be back in the ring. Bliss was unmasked on FOX’s The Masked Singer that same night.
